Netflix Orders Live-Action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko to Return as Showrunners

Netflix has ordered a live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. The series, which ran from 2005 to 2008, followed the journey of Aang, a young boy who is the Avatar, the only person who can control all four elements of air, water, earth, and fire.

The live-action series will be written and executive produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who created the original animated series. Albert Kim will also serve as executive producer.

DiMartino and Konietzko said in a statement, "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Netflix on this live-action adaptation of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. We can't wait to realize the world of Aang in a whole new way."

No release date has been announced for the live-action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' series.
